During the last con I went to, someone told me they were kind of disappointed to see that the arm Ed used in his final punch to Father wasn’t the one Al gave him back -which wouldn’t have been very practical since it was still weak, but could have been a great symbol of that sacrifice.
But then, this scene.
Does a certain line about hands made to help people, not to destroy them reminds you of something?

The way their relationship evolved from Edward desperately trying to get rid of that annoying guy to Ling actually offering to give his philosopher’s stone (the very reason why he came to Amestris in the first place, why Ranfan lost her arm and Fu lost his life) to bring back Alphonse.I… just can’t handle all these feelings.

#OMG NO SERIOUSLY THOUGH #i love them so much #i love ed and how he was so stubborn against ling in the beginning #and ed is so strong in his beliefs of friendship and loyalty that he knew ling didn’t fit the bill — yet #but all ling wanted to do was make some friends of his own #even if he is kind of a mooch #so he helps ed out to try to bring his body and brother back #and they save each other’s lives in gluttony’s stomach #and when they make it out they fistbump and realize hey #maybe this guy’s really not so bad after all #but it isn’t until ed loses ling to greed that he realizes what he’s almost lost in ling #and ed screaming at greed that ling’s still in there is so beautiful #because he knows his friend is there #and ed didn’t trust father because even though he healed his injuries he didn’t heal ling’s #and he keeps pushing for ling to fight greed no matter what #but still respects his decision to look for the stone because he knows he has no right to tell him no #and then when ling FINALLY gets it when he FINALLY gets what he needs #the first thing he does is offer it to ed because ED is the one who needs it and al’s body means so much to him #they’ve come so far from their first meeting in rush valley when ed was screaming that ling wasn’t his friend #I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
